Revox B77 wont stay on pause unless i hold the button

I just bought Revox B77MKII i found tape counter belt broken,LH vu meter light out & unit wont pause as soon as remove my finger from the button in continues to play?? 😱

That is normal for the B77. The pause on the remote does lock.

You can use an aftermaket add to your Revox from PIEVOX which will make it hold. Contact PIEVOX (Ernst and Madeline Schmidt) on e-bay. I have 3 of them all working fine.
