Can anyone tell me if the Karma or Iriver hard drive based players will skip if you run with them? I'd like to have a player that I can run with and also keep my whole music library on for plane trips, etc... The flash players are still pretty pricey when you can get a Karma 20GB for sub $300.

Harddrive based devices won't actually "skip" part of the music when running, they don't generally operate the same way a CD does. If anything, it's more likely that the drive itself would stop functioning when you're running with it, for example, the head might crash onto the disc platter, or the head might get "stuck" somehow. So it's generally not recommended that you operate a HDD based device while running.

Hardcore movie, not for kids:

Hi Woodman, thanks for the reply. Too bad to hear about the Hardrive players not being good for running. I wonder if I keep it on my hip how it would work out?

Well, I guess I need to look into getting a flash based player for running. I've heard that the Irivers are good. I also saw this Buslink MP3/Flash Player (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=305331&pfp=SEARCH) at Compusa 256 MB for $99 AR. Seems like a good deal. Does anyone have any experience with this model??

Thanks
