Anyone out there that has a Fuze V2 and wants gapless playback, RockBox is out. It's not considered a stable release, but I just installed it on my Fuze and let me tell you, so far it works great! Gapless playback is awesome! It works and it's something many Fuze/Clip owners have been crying for for years from Sansa who has YET to release a firmware update to provide this functionality.

You can get the latest release here -> http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaAMS

It means there is no pause between songs. This is especially noticeable with live albums. On the Fuze, you'll hear a 1 second pause as it switches to the next song.

With RockBox, it provides gapless play between songs.

Right, the same problem as with copying CD albums to CDR -- ruined albums like Sgt Pepper for me until I realised the difference between track at once and disc at once.

I love the idea of Rockbox on the iPod defeating the cruel hoax that locks it to iTunes, one of the vilest pieces of software I've encountered. But there's so much else wrong with my iPod Mini (fragile hard drive, overpriced battery replacement) that changing the OS isn't the priority.

Rather, I'll be changing brand.

Well, you definitely have the option of running it on your iPod Mini if you want to. The Fuze itself is great, but it sucks that it doesn't have the ability to play gapless. Sansa keeps saying it's hard to do it, yet someyhow the guys from RockBox did it!
