This is a personal thing. I've used Both, in fact my first streaming devices were Roku, but except for one Roku tv my other three TVs and streaming devices are either Google tv, or Samsung . Google TV isn't without its negatives, but I prefer it.

In fact, after Google removed Miracast support from Android and Google TVs in 2020, those TVs lost interest for me. Today, this direction is being well developed by Samsung and LG, and is also supported by Chinese manufacturers. Therefore, I look less and less towards the laptop and use mainly DEX in everyday life.

As far as I'm concerned, Roku is no longer a consideration. I own nothing in the Apple ecosystem, but I'll be getting an Apple TV 4K.
