[citation][nom]livebriand[/nom]Hmm... I've downloaded things like libreoffice and linux distros via bittorrent and had them max out my connection. (15mbps comcast)[/citation]

Comcast lost a law suite in regards to this. They can no longer throttle bit torrent. I max out my 30 mbps connection multiple times a month.

People just need to configure their software right 😉

[citation][nom]tokencode[/nom]All of those locals have a much higher population density in general than what you find in the US. It's the same reason our cellphone plans cost more, the infrastrure that supports the service costs more beause it has to cover a larger area for the same number of customers.[/citation]

If these companies were not making record profits I would agree with you. Seeing as how they have so much excess cash and only resort to capping all the time I will not agree with you. Not to mention that they cap and they throttle you or your service ends up being 3x slower than the advertised speed but you cant do anything about them because the ads say "up to".

It has reached a sickening level and it isn't looking good for the future.
