When hooking a DVD player up which is better to use: s-video, composite, or rca. I have all the connections on both my dvd player and tv.

Well...I think s-video produces the best picture, along with digital audio you can enjoy your movie a lot more.

My Rig:
AthlonXP 2000+ 1.677ghz
GeForce Verto FX5200 128mb DDR
Maxtor 7200RPM 80GB, Stock 40gb
Kingston 384MB DDR
Cendyne 52x24x52 CD-RW
Lite-On 4x DVD-RW

I'm not sure what you mean when you said "...rca". RCA jacks can put out composite or "component video" depending on what type of video circuitry is wired to them inside the DVD player. All I can say is RTM(Read The Manual)on the DVD player, find out exactly what type of signal comes out of those "RCA" jacks on the rear of your DVD player, then decide. If they're "component video" jacks, use them, they're the best in terms of picture quality. S-Video is #2, & plain old composite video is #3.

Component (RGB) gives the best possible picture. Tho with a DVD not being HD you probably can't tell a difference between component and S-Video. But composite or RCA (the same thing) is the worst of the three.
