I've just built a new machine with an Intel S5000XAL motherboard. I've put 2 E5405 Xeons in with Noctua coolers. My memory is KVR667D2D4F5K2/8G, that's two 4gb sticks in slots A1 and B1.
When I switch psu switch on I get all the correct leds with status led blinking amber and green and then staying in green. When I put the power on from the case (Antec Server Titan) all the fans start spinning and the leds still stay green, no cpu, processor or other error leds are on. Nothing happens after that except after a minute the status led goes amber. I get no vga, no post leds, nothing.
I've switched the memory around, cleared the cmos, tried booting from another bios. I tried with another S5000xal and with it I got the amber status light when switching the psu power on.
I now feel totally lost where to go with this project.
