Samsung DLP lamp LED blinks after replacement; yes, I know about the door switch

I replaced the color wheel and the lamp on my Samsung DLP, but the lamp LED keeps blinking. I hear the fans and the color wheel spin, and the lamp is on, but still the LED blinks when I power on.

Sorry I'm not familiar with Samsung DLPs but ... is the purpose of the blinking led to tell you that it is time to replace the lamp?

If so ... I know with my system (I get a message on the screen rather than a blinking led) ... I have to reset the lamp timer after I replace the lamp to get the message to stop popping up.
