I have the micro usb to hdmi plug to tv, is there something I have to do with my tablet to output it

You should plug in the cord to your TV's HDMI port, and switch the TV to the right input.
After that, on your tab, you will have to pick the option that pops up on your screen that says "mirror".
After that, what you see on your tab should also display on your TV!
