samsung laptop missing drive

hi i have a samsung laptop and it doesnt detect any discs and when i go into the ''computer'' it only shows the local disc (C) drive ? i used to be able to play and burn discs how can i rectify this , please x

Does your optical drive have any power? There should be a button on it, and press it and see if the drive opens. If it does not, than the drive is not connected to the system, or has gone bad.
