Samsung Remote HW-KM55C stopped communicating with sound bar?

Samsung HW-KM55C remote stooped working with sound bar.
Changed batteries, even bought a new remote, still does not work.
Turned both units off for 10 minutes.
Can manually turn on sound bar so problem is remote communicating with sound bar dieectly.

If that's the original model of remote that comes with the soundbar then the problem would seem to be in the soundbar.
If the soundbar is connected to the TV with HDMI-ARC and you turn CEC on in the TV menu you may be able to use the TV remote to operate the soundbar since the control signal doesn't come through the IR sensor on the soundbar but through the HDMI cable.
