Samsung Series 5 laptop keyboard dead

My laptop keyboard is completely dead. I have tried 2 system restores, checked for new drivers and updated windows. currently typing using onscreen keyboard! Any ideas?

Hi, did you verify if the ribbon for the keyboard is connected correctly to the connector on the motherboard?

Hi - it's a series 5 laptop, model NP530U3C, 18 months old.
