I no longer have the samsung logo on computer startup and can't get into the boot menu. Is it possible the basic graphics are messed up?

Solution
Very often a BIOS can be configured for a quick boot and skip certain steps like displaying a logo. To me, this is perfectly normal and you are welcome to re-config it if you have access.

I tried an external monitor but it wouldn't power up until the windows screen came up. Once I get the windows sign-in screen, the computer works fine. My hard drive is going and I want to clone it to a SSD. I have Acronis but since I can't get into the BIOS to change boot options/cancel fast boot I cant do anything. It's strange, I get power to the screen, if I press the F2 to get into BIOS, I just can't see it. During normal boot-up, I don't get the Samsung logo, just a "powered-up" black screen. After a few seconds the screen "powers down" and then comes back up and I get the Windows sign-in. Any ideas?
