samsung tablet wont turn on

I've had my tablet in charge for up to a hour now and it won't turn on. It doesn't even show the battery charging loading screen. I've held down on the power button for long periods of time but it ends up as just a black screen. I don't know what to do 🙁... My parents are gonna kill me if they know my tablets not working.

Make sure the charger is firmly attached. If you wiggle the charger connector slightly, is there any indication of charging activity?

I've had the same problem. You have to hold the sound toggle and the on/off button down together for 10 seconds before the tablet will respond.
