My Dad gave me a Samsung T.V.(Model# UD40H5203AF) today and it doesn't have a remote. When I plugged it up it came on but the screen just stayed a bluish black color and is blank,no welcome screen or Samsung logo. Channel button doesn't do anything. Please HELP! --No warranty either because he bought it from a friend of his who bought it at a flea market.--

There isn't a menu button only a round toggle button at the lower bottom right side. It looks like a joystick on a game console controller. I've plugged in my phone to one of the USB ports and nothing happened.

Hello. I've seen this issue and usually means you either have a defective main board or LCD controller.

That is a pretty rare model number though, even samsung doesn't recognize it... If you check the internals, you can identify the main board and LCD controller part numbers.

UN44H5203AFXZA is another way it is displayed on the back. Also like this,UN44H5203. I was told on another forum it could be the T-CON board. It was priced fairly low so we ordered one just in case.

Err, I hope you ordered the correct T-CON, using the part numbers directly on the board? If not, you might order the incorrect T-CON.

I highly suggest using only the part numbers on individual boards...as this TV seems to be so rare even samsung doesn't know it exists. O_O
