Our new Samsung TV works fine on wireless. We want it wired. The wire is in right, lights on router are green. We tested the wire and it works. When we go to settings and choose wired, it fails. We have manually put in the IP, subnet and gateway. We tried setting DNS to 8.8.8.8. Nothing works. An item to note is that the TV doesn’t auto fill any of the network information... everything is 0. That is why we manually put it in.

Why do you get all fancy and do static, when DHCP is easy, plays nice, is consistent, and DHCP working also means you have plug it in correct behind the NAT device. Why do anything else? making more trouble for yourself.

My interpretation of the original post was that DHCP was not providing a valid IP, so the resort to static... But I could be misinterpreting.
