My husband has his eye on a Samsung 11.6" Chromebook. He's not sure about the OS and seems to think he can (rather, have ME) just install Win 7 or 8 and lose the Chrome. Is this at all feasible, or shall I steer him in another direction?
You can't install windows on it because it uses a samsung exynos cpu and windows can't run on arm cpus; except for windows rt which you can't buy.

Thank you; that is exactly what I needed to know!
although windows is not an option and your question has been answered, you can run linux on it which is a full OS, you can run many programs with this including a program that allows you to install windows programs.
