so i think that explains what i want to do.

i am watching a program live. i 'pause' it for lets say hours and go to
bed, so the thing is over and i cant just click to 'record'.

is it somehow possible to get it saved or must i watch it NOW, if i want to
or lose it.

thanks.

The best thing to do would have you hit the record button instead of the
pause button. The Replay doesn't have a record from buffer capability.
I've never tried it, but I've read that some folks will run a cable from the
rca out to the rca in and then do a manual record for the length you want
recorded and then press play.

This will work, but requires in a bit of button pushing. If you've watched
the show from the beginning you can even rewind and record from the start.

Of course, if you have a VCR in the loop, you can also dump to tape (which I
actually find easier since a tape can be labeled while a manual-record program
can't, at least on the series I'm familiar with).

Yes it can. Use the 'rename show' menu option. I've used that a few
times, including for some things copied from VHS.

I don't think I have that on my 3060. . .but I'm glad they included it
eventually.
