[citation][nom]rcmaniac25[/nom]You wouldn't be complaining if your bank account vanished due to a "computer error" would you?By the way what's wrong with references to Fox News? It's not like it's the only biased network out there.[/citation]

Wow good job on showing your stupidity in that post. Then again you think there is no problem with Fox News, despite easily being the most biased and twisting of the news news station out there.

Yea the bank's network being shut down will cause your account to disappear. It's not like they wouldn't have multiple backups of things like that. I don't even need to take a networking class to know how stupid what you said is. No wonder you are so fearful of the bill and probable blame Obama for it.

[citation][nom]jerreece[/nom]First of all, this is not NEWs. I read about this months ago. Secondly, this is one more step toward socialism. This president has shown repeatedly that he wants more and more control over things at the governmental level. It is very scary. Shame on all of you who voted for the sitting president.I truly hope our elected representatives are not stupid enough to pass this bill. However, I also realize that Americans won't do crap about it if it does pass. We'll all sit on our butts and let Obama become a socialist dictator.[/citation]

Lol, wow... Oh well what can you expect from ignorant of what's going on in the world and other countries. Yea because socialism is so bad, that's why those European countries who are capitalist socialist are doing quite well despite the global recession? CARING FOR OTHERS IS EVIL IS WILL LEAD TO DICTATORSHIPS!!!11!!!

[citation][nom]Hellbound[/nom]I don't trust Obama. I think he would sign it if passed. The question is, what would they deem a "cyber threat"? More government intrusion, more government control of private sectors, socialized medicine, and now, if this bill is passed, they will have the right to intrude on our networks.. This isnt the "change" I wanted.[/citation]

that'sjsut ti th3ese kidn of bills never define "threat" look at teh drug laws , origianl constituion stipulated taht NO officer or military personal can enter a hoem pwith out a search warrent PERIOD . but durrignt eh whoel drug war craze , they wrote a new law sayignt they can do just that with out a search warrent if there is "probable cause" , to beleive the home may be a drug den, yet the law never defined what a probable cause is thus bassically allowing authorites mroe power over citizens.

this is just another goverment "empowering" law.

The stupid voters who voted this Fascist regime (Senate and House members too) into power got what they voted for, where is you hope and change now!
If Bush would have done this the State run media, I mean the news media would have had never ending stories about it, the ACLU would have been up in arms but since it is their Fascist buddies, no problem. Vote these idiots out in 2010 and 2012.

American's have voted these people in office... Massive increase in govt power; it's what some of you voted for. Obama was clear this is the kind of power he wanted to put into place and most were OK with it...

I suggest the people who do not like this kind of govt control should look into who they are voting for not who's the most popular on the TV stations. Mail a handwritten letter to your reps with your concern; it's the best way to be heard.

So yeah when the president shuts down the Internet does this mean I have to find my 14.4k modem again and go BBS surfing?

[citation][nom]rcmaniac25[/nom]Last time I checked, both Dem's and Rep's had power going to their heads. This bill wouldn't be good for anyone. What if your own goverment said we are shutting down your bank's internet because it might be "critical." You wouldn't be complaining if your bank account vanished due to a "computer error" would you?By the way what's wrong with references to Fox News? It's not like it's the only biased network out there.[/citation]

My point exactly, that's why it's funny when people point out liberals and start complaining. Have you watched fox news. "Terrorist Fist Pound"? "Mass Effect virtual porn"? Fox news is funny because, as you pointed out, they are biased yet their tagline is "Fair and Balanced". Funny...

See when you point out logic how you get negative scores...

[citation][nom]millerm84[/nom]Here's a constructive idea. Build a national infrastructure exclusively for the government that has no access to the internet. Putting up new lines and installing the hardware to make it work will open up jobs, and provide a network for the government to run all by themselves and they can shut it down any time they get a bug up their ass. There is no reason to shut down the internet to protect a government who is too stupid to keep sensitive data off a globally accessible network. Spend a couple billion dollars and hands off my need for civil liberty on the net. lastly Obama hasn't endorsed this bill, didn't sponsor it, and his only reference to the issue at all is that the US government is not prepared to deal with a major cyber attack. So before you start liberal bashing or talking of a socialist take over try reading before posting.[/citation]

You sir, receive the best post award.

[citation][nom]rcmaniac25[/nom]Forgot to put in original post:Also for those complaining that Tom's already reported this, this article (late as usual) said it was rewritten and still isn't better.[/citation]

I think that it was rewritten from the original. Thats why it posted. People don't read, they just go into panic mode.

Alternatively, how would you like it if there was an attack on your bank and hackers made off with all your money, meanwhile nothing was done to safeguard? How would you like if another country performed an DDOS attack on all bank and electric companies while nothing was done. True that limits need to be put on the bill and I'm not arguing that fact, but realize this is a bill not a law yet.

Ahh yes all the ignorant retards on here. I bet they worship Alex Jones too.

I love how they act as if Obama is backing this bill up when he has yet to say anything about it. Then again, those bashing him in this article are just retards. Simple as that really.

After taking over media, he has to be able to stop the internet as well which has become the new media. Look at the FCC's "diversity" program. The framework is in place to him to completely overthrow the current government and our capitalist economy.
