Screen, no color, grey and vision

Screen looks like a bad scan, greyish, but there is light. I heard the Microsoft jingle. I can't see anything.

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to do a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- If the same problem will persist, connect an external monitor and see if it will display normally.
- If the external monitor will work normally that could mean it's the built in LCD that is faulty and replacing it would be the solution.
- But the same problem will result to the external monitor that could mean it's the GPU is the problem.
- Having the laptop repaired would be the solution for a GPU problem.
