screen wrong way round

I tried to lighten the screen but instead rotated the screen and don't know how to rectify

More detail please... how did you go about this? Monitor controls? Display controls? What's your spec?

Down by the time & date where the little icons for things like volume are located, click the little arrow that shows all icons, look for one that is for graphics - depending on what driver/software you've got installed it could be called many different things, but probably something like "(manufacturer) graphics driver" or "(manufacturer) graphics or display settings". Right click on it and go to properties, and there will be a screen rotation setting in there somewhere
