SD card malfunction

I deleted files from my sd card because it says "not enough space" but the more I delete the less space the card is showing. Why is this going on?

Did you restart the phone (turn it off and back on) after deleting the files? Also, are you sure you are looking at the amount of space on just the card? Or is the 'not enough space' message due to something else?
