Seeking Gaming/Desktop replacement Laptop <$1000

Hi I'm looking for a desktop replacement laptop for gaming and running stat software like R. I prefer smaller ones since laptops bigger than 15" really scare me... details below

1. What is your budget?
About $1000

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
13-14"

3. What screen resolution do you want?
Anything higer than 720p

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Mostly a desktop replacement, but at 14" I think portability is not an issue...

5. How much battery life do you need?
>3hrs

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Diablo 3 720p High

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
100g for SSD, 500g for normal hard drives

2-3 years

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
I can go without one.

No Dells. Had bad experience before.

Gigabyte Intros Ultrabooks with 14-inch High-Res Screens, Nvidia Graphics Cards

Available now:
SONY VAIO SA 13" notebook $900
Core i5 2430M(2.40GHz) CPU, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD 13.3" 1600x900 LCD w/ Radeon HD 6630M graphics.
I'm not sure HD 6630M had enough GPU power to do Diablo3 on high with 1600x900 resolution.

What kind of graphics card is Diablo 3 going to need for high graphics?

The "RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS" says GeForce 260 or Radeon 4870, but I just want 720p gaming so I should be fine with something like 555m or 560m. Not too familiar with mobile ATI cards though.

I think I can wait until May or so. Would it make a difference?
