Sennheiser GAME Zero or alternatives

So I recently recieved some Sennheiser GAME zeros but found myself extremely disappointed in the audio. I am somewhat aware that you need an amp for true sound however am really short on money and was wondering how I could fix this low volume and quality. Or what headphone and mic combo would be best in terms of not requiring amps up to $180. Thanks for any responses!
