Solved! Separate Downloaded audio files seemed to have merged

I have downloaded audio where it sounds as if two files have merged. I can clearly hear two, sometimes more, different moments of time playing as if they happened in sync. I can only seem to find advice on merging audio files but not any on separating/fixing error and getting each track to play on its own, respectively. Any thing I can do?

You could try opening the "merged" file in Audacity and take a look at it. That will show you each track in the file and you could create a new file from any combination of the tracks you want.
If the file only has two tracks you won't be able to easily, if at all, "unmerge" it.
