I have windows defender and avast antivirus running at the same time and I want to know if that is a problem, or should I disable windows defender?

Solution
You should run only one anti-virus application at a time. Running multiples can cause conflicts between them. This will also put an unnecessary load on your system (processing-wise).

Generally, it's recommended to only have one "active" scanning program in place at a time. So for example, with Avast, you can have our nextgen protection running and actively protecting you, with Defender available for supplementary on-demand scans if you wish. Installing Avast should disable Windows Defender automatically, and Windows should report that "you are using Avast antivirus" or similar :)
