Using the combination for a few weeks. Quite satisfied so far. Like most
long range wide to tele zoom lenses it shows some softening of the image
at the extreme ends of the zoom at the widest aperture, more noticable at
the wide end; but it is tolerable to me. The zoom-lock function is almost
useless as it works only at the 18mm setting.
But this lens will effectively make your kit lens redundant. Should you
not look for a tele-zoom to extend the range ? Unless, of course, you wish
to replace the kit lens.
