I actually have 8gb ram but it keeps switching to 6gb. Is there something wrong with my computer?

Solution
Your PC seems pretty weak, but considering I play Minecraft on my ThinkPad x200s I could say that there is something wrong with your PC, and or the settings you have chosen in the two games are too high for your PC. Now, if lowering settings does not help, try to get a fresh install of windows onto your machine, and if THAT does not help, upgrading to Windows 10 will allow you to play Minecraft Windows 10, witch is much less intensive than the PC java edition.
But what I really recommend for you is a complete system overhaul. Most of your parts are way outdated and I think a modern Ryzen APU would be a very good substitute to your aging Dual Core. The only good component in your PC seems to be the 6GB of Memory, witch would be plenty to...

The only good component in your PC seems to be the 6GB of Memory, witch would be plenty to play both of these games. So, for now, follow the simple steps of reinstalling Windows and lowering the settings in your games, but like I said, an Upgrade would be your best bet.

And for the RAM not being registered, there is something definitely wrong with your computer. For now, take the stick out, and try to rearrange the ram slots, so lets say, if your "broken" RAM stick does not work well in the slot that it is in now, try to swap it in a different RAM stick. But in short, take out all of your ram except one stick, and then proceed to put the stick in lets say slot one, if it boots, shut it down and rinse and repeat until you come up with nothing or that one of the slots does not register the RAM, then you got your issue, the motherboard is done with. If you do come up with nothing, try the same but with all your ram sticks until you find the dead one, then you have once again found your issue.
