Small socket on motherboard came off

Hi there.

I opened up my laptop to give it a good ol spring clean for New Year's and this little socket came lose. The writing near the area it was located in says "speaker wire 4 pins"

Does that mean the whole motherboard is useless if I don't get it re-soldered on, or will I just have no speaker sound if I don't get it reattached?

I reassembled the laptop, and there's no power now when connected by the power supply. The light doesn't even blink to show there's power flow entering the laptop. Is this due to the loose connector thing? (I can't test the battery..... It's been dead for a year or two)

Any help is greatly appreciated

try to get a closer shot of your 2nd picture as I want to look for any torn traces that were attached to the pads of that connector. how did you knock it off?

Hi there. Thanks for the reply. I was careless in removing the top cover and didn't realise that wire was still connected. In the first pic I posted above, on the actual plug, there is a pinkish film over the surface if each wire. Here are 2 more pics.
