not that i like apple products but the 7" makes perfect sense considering the much vaulted retina display on the iPhone 4, i would surmise a 7" screen with the retina display will match or surpass the current iPad's display, i highly doubt apple would adopt OLED considering how much hype and marketing they put into their retina display.... i think it's somewhat early for a v2 of an iPad but what do i know

They should call these the "IPad Pearls"... and then they can sue Tampax for infringing the name.

I wonder how many new Applicators they will come out with... hmm... I mean Applications.

I doubt that it will be a retna display something that big would need alot more resolution to make the pixels disappear.

[citation][nom]soldier37[/nom]The amount of Apple haters here is too funny, have nothing better to do I guess but to troll around and look for Apple news to bash on. Get a life losers. Crawl back to your half A$$ed android flip phones and be second place as usual.[/citation]

I have never seen an android flip phone before. Also at the rate android is flying off the shelf, and as many carriers as it is on. Its just a matter of months before it is ahead of iphone sales. (RIM already is and has been for a long time, last I saw 3 times the sales of the iphone). So go back to your closed system, crappy reception, broken antenna, no porn phone, and use what steve tells you to.

@ tokenz

actually i maybe wrong, the iPhone 4 is about 78% of the iPads screen @ 3.5" a 5.6" retina display would almost certainly easily match or surpass the current iPad display, the 7" is almost certainly going to get the HD moniker

as far as i know the retina display is nothing more then a high density display able to cram more pixel into a smaller space, i care not for apple's marketing, it just means you can fit an iPad display into a 5.6" size quite easily

OLED sends some alarm bells ringing... IPS lcds came out of left field, they have already shown they can do it, at real high res for small screens. they seem to be happy with it... I don't know why they would ditch it all of a sudden? has there been some development in OLED?

anyway, sounds good... for the love of god though: make sure this consolidates the ipod touch/ ipad into ONE BRAND!

True... but I have heard (correct me if I am wrong) retina display IPS LCD has scale up problem and it also have hard time to match iPhone4's demand. With the expanding of countries for iPhone4 release... they may not have that many IPS LCD for anything else.

In terms of OLED..... I believe the high contrast of OLED is actually bad for e-readers.
