Solved! Smart Devices - Old Electrical System

I'm living in an older home that still has a two wire electrical system; hot & neutral only, no ground. Are there any smart switches that will work with this?
All the ones I've looked at require a hot & a return (live & load). Would the switches advertised as not requiring a neutral work if I connect my hot & neutral to the hot and return?

switchmate switches will cover the original switch. no wiring needed. there are others too, just can't recall them at the moment.

Thank you very much. I haven't heard of them before but will look them up. Sounds like they have just what I'm looking for.
