We set up a OTA outdoor antenna. Connected the existing two coaxial cables to a 2-way splitter. When we tested our old TV (not smart) it worked fine. When we tested our new smart TV it worked fine. But when we checked the old TV it wasn't picking up any signals. After a bunch of tests, what we found was that the old TV would work only if the smart TV was not on on. Could the smart TV be sending a signal that disables the old TV? Could the smart TV be pulling too much of the signal? We have an antenna booster on the old TV but the not the smart TV. Any ideas?

Can't move the booster to before the splitter because its outside and would be a bear to wire. Have you ever seen an A/B switch that has one input and 2 outputs? I would think that would do the trick. We could live with stepping outside and manually flipping the switch. I've seen dozens of the reverse. The other thing we are going to do is try a higher quality splitter. Looking at the RCA DH24SPF Two Way 3 Ghz Bi-Di Splitter.
