Softphone - Is it available the service yet?

Hello, I´m looking for software to use softphone and I can´t find it or is too old. Is there any software available yet on the market? as free?

Can someone help me and suggest any software? i would like to try it and use it.

Yes and no... well, i´m trying to use it like a phone without internet, what I want to do is use a device that manage the softphone. I had a new router, this is a new rock wroc2011 and has the option to use it as a pbx or ip-phone. I looking a software can be use on this device. The brand and the supplier didn´t gave me a solution for it.

any softphone or IP phone is going to use internet. I mean you have to have connectivity somehow. On a cell phone or land line you pay for your connectivity based on usage, while on a soft or IP phone then you are paying for your connectivity via your internet connection plus whatever fee is required to translate your IP connection to the phone network.
