Software to Optimize

Right guys, long shot time lol

I have an older Acer E1-510, with an Intel chip.. Any way to optimize the hell of this? software wise.

p.s Dont abuse this post lol. im only after ideas, other than, buy a new system, bewcause thats out of the question right now.

can you give system specs?
You can always install fresh copy of windows/linux (w/e you use) or those things:
Keep startup programs to minimum
Adjust visual settings
Clean registry and run a disk cleanup to remove temp files and old restore points
Open the laptop and blow the dust from it (or have a service do this for you)
Reapply thermal paste where its needed (or have service do this too)
