Solid black bar with new DLP chip-Mitsubishi WD-82737

I have installed a new DLP chip three times and keep getting a three inch high black bar through the middle of the screen. I also get the bar when installing the old chip so I know I am doing something improperly.....any tips?

I guess the question is why are you changing the dlp chip?
