Mitsubishi DLP stuck on Welcome Screen Repair Advice

My WD-82737 is hanging on the blue welcome screen. I did the firmware update and it worked for 2 weeks. I did firmware update a couple more times and got it to boot but the color was blotchy then it went back to hanging on startup screen. I have heard this indicates a bad power board and or main board. I could probably install it myself. If I can get the part.

Is there a way to diagnose this better? What would a tech charge for that repair approximately?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

E-Bay may have used boards. Get the individual part numbers from the boards and search by those numbers.

I found a power board on ebay and installed it................ still stuck on welcome screen. So I guess it is the main board. Is there another component which could be the culprit?

Not a clue. DLP has such horrible picture compared to LED, I threw out my DLP many years ago. That is what I recommend for all of them ..

Thanks to all who responded. I installed a used mainboard for less than a C-note and the TV is fixed
