First off let me say thank you to anyone willing to help me out with this, I really appreciate it.
So iv been doing some research and Im struggling to not buy a MacBook (leaning towards pro). I do well with electronics in general though so Im not scared of any fix's id have to do myself (short of the costs these fix's would cost me) and I dont need a super user friendly machine that would baby me. Some information about what im looking for:
Budget: 800-1500
Size: 15 (ideal) but anything larger wouldn't be a problem
Screen resolution: flexible.
Battery Life: So I feel like I would always be around a plug but Most people I speak to suggest 5+ hours of battery life just incase.
Gaming: Yes. Forsure. Specifically Starcraft 2, Civ: After Earth and Anno 2070. The higher the settings the better but I just want the machine to run cool and not overheat on me while I play these games.
Other tasks: School (university student) and the odd night with netflicks would also be nice but not quite necessary.
Storage space: Doesn't matter at all. I like external HDD's and have many. I would like to have a SSD in the machine for speed purposes though. (I dont mind adding this individually later myself)
Buying Location: I would prefer offline at a store, but im not opposed to any site that is reputable.
Longevity of the laptop: ~2-3 Years.
Optical drive: Not necessary at all. If its there, Bonus.
Brands: Apple seems to be a Solid choice because of the durability of their products. From what iv gathered its head and shoulders above every other company. Although for non Mac machines HP and Samsung are apparently best. I generally have always been a fan of Windows products and I dont really want to switch to mac, but for the price the MacBook Pro seems to be beyond any windows powered machine....
Location: I live in Canada Toronto. If the price is right I dont mind going to New York or Buffalo though.
The Information above should give a decent understanding on what im looking for, but back to the main question. Is there any Windows Machine out there that can keep up with the Macbook Pro ?
Thank you again for any help, I really appreciate it!!
-Mike.
