Sad, just sad. This must be why more developed nations are starting to see population growth stagnate. If China wants to control its population, it needs to implement a one-hobby program, internet or sex. To play devils advocate, what were the two options as actually presented to the participants?

"If you had 20-hours of free time a week, would you rather spend that time on the internet, or use some of that time for sex, knowing that any remaining time is to be spent staring at a wall?" Unless you overdosed on Viagra, most people have far more free time a week then they could spend having sex.

I don't know about most people, but the time I spend on the internet is usually not time taken away from my interaction with other people. My internet time is usually time I already have to myself, so any sexual activety during this time wouldn't really count anyway.

Well, this was only inevitable. Our society's getting so damn fat, that I suppose even this particular physical activity isn't immune from the consequences. Brings new meaning to the term "Big Mac Virgins."
-Yes, I've reduced this study to a fat joke. So?

Hopefully they can use the internet to see how shitty the sex they've been having is. Based on numerous home videos I've seen I'm forced to believe the main reason many men and women aren't very interested in sex is because they suck at it.

The "nasty noodle"? Never heard that one before. Good article though. Maybe to many puns (intended or not), but interesting nonetheless.

What I find scary is that I recognize myself in this sometimes. Damn you World of Warcraft!

i'm not convinced.
2 weeks of no internet compared to less than one hour of sex? that's too much internet to exchange for 2 weeks of no sex. everyone knows a person or several people that don't even have sex for years.
normally, a person can have several hours online and have one hour of sex, all in the same day.
they should have given various questions so we can see at which amount of internet equals sex and where sex is greater.

i can easily exchange no tv for a whole month for no 24 hour internet downtime.

If I was given the choice of 2 weeks of no internet vs giving up sex once in 2 weeks (assuming that reduced the total to zero), sadly, I'd choose the internet. Conversely, if I was giving up twice daily sex vs 2 weeks of no internet, good bye internet.

The nasty noodle? Ahahaha. Nice descriptors.

For me it depends on the circumstances. When I'm depressed and libido is down, who knows? The internet is an important part of my life, and I don't see how that should automatically be taken as an addiction or a negative impact on my life. Which is a worse addiction, drugs and alcohol, or the internet? At least in the latter you have the opportunity to do something constructive instead of being left a burnt out husk (not by default, by unhealthy obsession).

To me the black and white answer is not that women like the internet more than sex. And you're not necessarily accounting for all the single women who aren't whores (believe it or not, there's a large population of women who are selective). If you're not into dating and are doing the wise thing and developing yourself instead of desperately waiting for a relationship to fall in your lap, often times you'll go a few weeks without sex. Regardless of whether you're in a relationship or not, you're going to be using the internet. It's awfully easy to give up the sex you're not having.
