I'm stuck between getting the Sony a6000 and the Nikon D5300. I know all their features, but I just want to know what other people think about the two cameras. Which one would you choose, and why?

Solution
I would get the Sony if:
I took only occasional photos.
I planned to not use the viewfinder but like a cellphone (rear LCD).
I wanted the smaller body.
I didn't mind the awkward ergonomics.
My occasional short video was of moving subjects.
My still images were of mostly stationary or slow moving subjects.
My friends shot Sony and I had lots of access to e-mount lenses.

I would get the Nikon if:
I wanted to learn photography.
I planned to take lots of photos.
I wanted access to the largest collection of lenses.
The larger more complete upgrade path mattered to me.
My occasional video was of mostly stationary (or slow moving subjects), or my videos were occasionally longer than 10-15 minutes per take (but less than 30 minutes).
