Sony Bravia flicker issue

Anyone have any idea what is going on here? TV does this about 75% of the time. Any input is appreciated.

Check that the wires do not run parallel to the power wire as this can induce interference.

ETA: The 25% of the time it's NOT flickering, black, or a solid color on that strip of screen, it works fine. I'm basically trying to assess whether this is a relatively easy fix, or if it's time for a new television. I've always been told that televisions are rarely worth the money spent fixing them, so I'm wary about taking this into a shop just yet.

The right side of the screen is a mess.

I would connect another TV, and make sure that the issue is not from the signal from whatever source. You can also try a different HDMI port.

If it is from the TV, you are correct that it does not pay to fix these HDTV's.

Indeed, it does this whether I'm using cable, watching a blu-ray, streaming, etc, so does this despite the source or connection. Thanks for chiming in -- looks like it's time to go shopping.

Will likely get worse over the next several months, so you have a little time to figure out what you want, and get a deal on it.
