Im trying to figure out if my Dell 3541 (http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/inspiron-15-3541-laptop_Reference%20Guide_en-us.pdf) supports SONY MEMORY STICK PRO DUO (ITS 8G) but cannot make it clear.

On the dell website they suggest the Realtek RTS 5170 Card Reader Driver which on the Realtek website sais that it support MS PRO DUO cards, however when i insert the card in the laptop right slot nothing happens, as if nothing was inserted.

Do i need an adaptor or external card readr or have i done something wrong?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Have you tried checking if it is listed in Windows Explorer? Go to Computer and see if your will see any removable drive listed because if it's listed Autoplay just need some changes to be made. Please refer to this link from Microsoft for the steps on how to change the Autoplay settings.

Changing Autoplay:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/Change-AutoPlay-settings#1TC=windows-7

If this steps is not applicable with your PC and the laptop still wont read the memory card please try these steps:
1. Uninstall the Memory Card reader driver in Device Manager.
2. Download and install the latest driver for the Memory card reader in Dell support website.(Link provided below)...
