Hey Guys,

My sister Sony VAIO laptop VPCEH laptop has just died. Not beep, lights, nothing. I've tried plugging into a different power socket nothing. I only get the green light coming from the charger, nothing from the laptop.. I've pull the ram out and reseat and still nothing. I've pull the battery out and started without the battery and still nothing.

I'll initially thought that maybe the DC power input or the plug end of the charger is faulty and the laptop was running on battery power till it went flat and won't power on. However, my sister stated that the laptop had a full charge before this problem persisted.

So is there anything that I can do before I deem this laptop as a complete loss. The only thing I could think of is try another power adapter but I don't have another VAIO charger lying around nor know anyone who owns a VAIO. It's a pity because this laptop hasn't seen a whole lot of use in its life and while it was working, it was really nice to use. Moreover, looking around for a replacement motherboard (which is what I suspected is fried) is going to cost me more then buying another laptop, not to mention that some places are charging me more for a new main board, then what I paid for the entire laptop when new.

Regards,
