Sony Vaio VPCEC22FX - New Hard Drive Installation Problems

I've just bought a Western Digital Scorpio Black for my laptop as I use it for music production and a 7200rpm drive.

However, having issues installing Windows onto it. I have official Windows 7 and Windows 8 disks and the laptop originally came with Windows 7 Home Premium.

I get the VAIO screen on power-on, then it boots from disk, loads the needed Windows files from disk, up pop the "Starting WIndows" screen and then it restarts and cycles back.

The drive is recognised fine in the BIOS. Any ideas???

Hi

Run a hard drive test in DOS... HIRENS BOOT CD etc, it sounds like a failing hard drive... and we have seen ONE DAY old drives fail...
