I have a Sony VGN-W21M laptop which was quite a hi-spec laptop about 3 years ago.
I am now using it for music production which is very demanding in computer resources in terms of CPU / RAM and hard drive to provide minimal latency, large track count (using audio and VST plugins) and sample streamng in real time.
I have been looking at current laptops, thinking I need to upgrade (MacBook Pro 2012, Samsung series 7 gamer etc etc).
Obviously that means a lot of expenditure. I was wondering if further upgrading the Sony is worth considering? I already ugraded to a larger hard drive at 7200RPM, RAM to 4Gb, Windows 7 64bit from Vista.
What are my other options. Can I add any more RAM, what are my options (and costs) of upgradng to an SSD, is there anything I can do about the processor, is a better battery available?
Any help would be appreciated.
