Is this tv able to be a HDTV? I am upgrading my tv service and was just wondering the date on the back is 2005. Thank You

the television is listed as 1080i
and the highest resolution available for digital television is 1080i
those two seem to be a match to me.

however,
i doubt the television will come with a digital tuner.. meaning, you would have to use the external digital cable box to change the channels.
