"Many of us were hoping to pull away from Microsoft's clutches after a decade of pain and suffering."
From that statement I can only assume Microsoft took someone you loved away...

Oh darnit. I was sooo looking forward to installing this, playing with it for an hour or so, and then either uninstalling it or leaving it on a separate partition to never be seen again. It's too bad I'll have to wait until sometime in 2010 for that to happen... 🙁

Nope ... hardcore Bob fan.

I'm a very happy Ubuntu user and I can definitely see what Google can bring to the table. The thing about Ubuntu is that it's great and once you get used to it you don't really want to go back, yet you have to every one in a while. And when this happens you begin to see that there's still a lot of work to be done on *ubuntu. The main gripe I have with it is that it is not as snappy as either Windows or MacOS and some cross platform programs perform better under comercial OSes than under Linux distributions. Google can really pitch in to make the whole Linux experience better for casual user.

I'm happy to try a Google OS and I'm sure it will be very good. Most of the google products really show how things should be done. Their adwords and Analytics really do the job well.

That said, I do worry about the OS tracking and logging 101% of everything you do. Its the main draw back of google.

Exactly! All google wants to do is be so freakin nosey and track every single thing you do. MS used to be that way and has backed off since then.

The last thing I want is someone like google snooping around in my personal life and annoying me with ads trying to get me to buy something I don't need. It's bad enought the Gov't snoops around in all our lives.

NO FUGLY CHROME FOR ME!!!

Learn to type or something! Seriously, why make posts that no one can actually read?

"Google is an marketing company that annoys me with targeted advertisements. I'd trust Microsoft with my personal information before Google." ??? Did you notice, by chance, the Bing ad on this very web page? LOL...honestly...everyone is using info about our online habits in anyway they can. It doesn't matter which OS or browser you use. I will try Chrome OS when it arrives. If I don't like it, I won't use it, but I won't hate on it because it was developed by Google."oh yeah...Kevin...I'm sorry to hear that you have been accosted by MS for the past 10 years. I hope a jury rewards you for your pain and suffering. WOW!
