sound bar connection

Trying to connect RCA sound bar to new Phillips 4k TV, tried red and white audio cables ,no luck. Tried digital optical cable, still no sound.

Without model numbers we can't give you an exact answer.
Try turning on the optical output, turning the TV speakers off, and changing the audio output type in the TV menu.
Make sure the soundbar input is optical.
