Sound bar connector

Hello,
I'm thinking of buying my Dad a sound bar for his tv as he's rather hard of hearing. He has a Sony Bravia 26 inch which doesn't have an optical connector. Is there a way round this please - bearing in mind I know nothing about cable or connectors? Thanks in advance

We can't check what connections the TV has without the model number.
Search for the owners manual of the TV. That will tell you if it has an audio output and what kind it is.
Get a soundbar with the correct input for the TV output.
If the TV has a headphone jack that can connect to the aux input on any soundbar.
If the TV doesn't have any audio outputs then you can't connect a soundbar to it without modifying the TV.
