Sound bar- no sound!

Samsung sound bar to LG Smart TV. Optical cable connects to both, but I still get audio from TV only. Have Sound bar set on D.IN which is what the manual shows for optical. Still no sound. Also has wireless subwoofer but I think that is not the problem

You may have to set the optical output to PCM stereo if the default seting on the TV is set to Dolby Digital or DTS, most sound bars are only 2.1 audio so they are unable to translate/decode the DD or DTS signalling standards.
