Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on getting a sound bar for my PC.

I'm not really looking for anything too big, I will use it for a bit of gaming and movies.

My budget is probably around £200, but I'm open to spend more.

I was recently looking at the Razer Leviathan, as it's quite compact.

looking at answer bellow, i can just plug them into my monitor as i know it has USB ports and has audio out.

so i wont have to plug both devices into the speakers.

i originaly meant having 2 devices plugged into the speaker, but yes i would only use 1 at a time.

just to clarify, so if i plugged the speaker into the USB or audio out, i wil be able to use my PS4 which is attached to the monitor via hdmi, if i then turned my ps4 off and wanted to use my PC for another game this would work right ?

ok yeah, ignore my answer bellow, with the audio out, i keep forgetting these are USB only.

so i can just attach them to my monitor and use whatever device i am using at the time.

i thought those speakers may be able to play sound that way too i guess not.

are there speakers that i can plug 2 devices in at the same time, i know i wont be using both devices at the same time.
but it would be more convenient if i didn't have to unplug them from my PC when i want to use my PS4 and vice versa

if not that'd cool, but i would prefer this.

if i got different speakers and i connected them to the audio out on my monitor this, would resolve my issue above ? or would i still need to plug them into my PC in order to hear sound ?

If your monitor has a USB port, it technically can, but it's a bit pointless, just the same as plugging it in directly, they can only work out of one device at a time unless you get a splitter which would affect audio quality and volume output.
I don't believe there are any with two connections.
Every single one has a single device connection, two connections is a bit useless and would split the end bandwidth if it did happen.
Just hotswap it, takes two seconds and will become a habit. :)

i just don't want to keep unplugging the speakers if its possible, so my monitors have USB connections, i have dual setup,

when i use my PS4 i switch the connection on one monitor from DVI to HDMI so i can use my PS4, so if used the USB port on that monitor i can use PC or PS4, i wouldn't be using both at the same time, but this would enabled me to keep them connected to the monitor and i wouldn't have to plug them into my PC when i want to use it or into the PS4 when i want to use it.

am i correct in saying this ?

i think that makes sense

They're pretty good for the price, but the A2 pluses are much better in terms of fullness and sound quality.
I found that pair of speakers to be very dull with a lacking treble range and overly sharp bass if that makes sense.
If you seriously can't swap between the two when changing what device it's connected to, go ahead, but it's the same process as plugging your headphones into a PC, phone or PS4, it's not that much of a hassle for way better sound overall.
Up to you, not my cash to spend. :)

ok thanks.

i will probably plug them direct as suggested, i was wondering if i could find one with both that's all.
i know its not much hassle, but thought it could be avoided

yeah for sure, just one more thing,

as my room where my everything i use is quite small i wont be that far away from the speakers when i watch movies for example.

just want to make sure before making my decision

are the a2's better than sumsung hw-k550 ?

Yeah, they're far better.
These are designed for desk use, while sound bars are TV focused, and work better in an open, unobstructed area where the soundstage and audio can develop better.
A sound bar will sound distorted close up, and will be murky given how relatively low the sound will be on the device.

ok, thats great, many thanks for all the help
